Visiting Llandudno During the Summertime

Summer is just a couple of months away, and each year the town of Llandudno becomes bustling with visitors and events. Llandudno seafront hotels are a popular choice with many, thanks to their stunning views out to the coast and promenade.

The seafront hotels in Llandudno are also incredibly close to Venue Cymru. This popular theatre is host to a variety of performances and events throughout the year, and this summers schedule is certain to offer something for everyone.

When we say incredibly close, we definitely mean it. The Four Oaks hotel is a very short two-minute walk away from the theatre. This means you’ve got plenty of time to get ready or enjoy a meal or drink at our restaurant before heading off to watch your performance.

If you love musical theatre, the Wonderland tour is sure to please. With the town of Llandudno having historical links to the classic tale of Alice in Wonderland, there’s truly no better place for this performance to take place.

This musical adaptation of the classic story is fantastic for both adults and children, and features a brilliant cast of West End stars who help make to it a memorable performance. Wonderland will be performed at Venue Cymru from June 26th, and the final performance will take place on July 1st.

For fans of 80’s movies, Footloose is returning to the Venue Cymru stage with plenty of classic 80s hits for you to sing along to. This Grease-esque musical is guaranteed to get you moving, with a recognisable cast including Gareth Gates and Maureen Nolan leading the stage. This performance will be taking place from June 5th until June 10th.

Entertainment aside, the natural landmarks of Llandudno are also well worth a visit during your stay. Take a journey up the huge Great Orme, and experience excellent views of the coast and the distant mountain ranges.

To reach the top, you can walk, drive or take a traditional tram ride up.

The Great Orme is home to a wide variety of wildlife and nature, including a herd of Kashmiri goats which were first introduced back in the 19th century. Many of the areas upon the Great Orme are sites of scientific interest, due to the variety of rare wildlife and flora which can be found throughout the year.

Atop the Great Orme you’ll be rewarded with magnificent views of the coast and the town of Llandudno. There’s a cafe at the summit where you can rest up and enjoy a hot (or cold) drink after exploring the Orme.

Close to the Great Orme are a variety of activities, including a skiing centre and a toboggan track. Next to these you can also find the Happy Valley gardens, which are beautiful to take a stroll around during the summer months.

Take a stroll along the promenade and along the pier, where you’ll find a variety of shops and stalls along the way. There’s even a large arcade at the end of the pier packed with a variety of new and traditional machines –  and since it’s all indoors, it’s a great place to visit if the weather turns a little colder during your stay.

There are plenty of benches along the promenade to sit and peacefully take in the views of the sea, which can be exceptional whilst the sun is setting.
